PestiDev is a free job board run by a private individual. This page describes what data it handles, why, and which cookies the site uses — including third-party advertising cookies from Google.
An account is optional. If you sign up, we store your email address along with your marked (saved, applied) jobs, saved filters and any job posts you submit, so they're available across devices. If you post a job, we also store the company details you give (company name, tax number, contact name and phone number); these are used only to review postings and are never shown publicly. Sign-up and sign-in are handled by the Netlify Identity service. You can ask for your account to be deleted by email.
Your settings (language, filters, marks, having dismissed the cookie notice) stay in your browser's local storage and a language cookie (af.lang). They never reach us unless you're signed in and sync them.
To count unique daily visitors, your browser gets a random identifier that is not tied to any personal data. It is stored at most once per day, together with the date; no IP address, device data or browsing history is recorded with it. Your IP address is used only briefly, in memory, for abuse rate limiting, and is not stored.
nl_session — keeps you signed in (7 days, only after signing in). af.lang — your chosen language (1 year). Both are needed for the site to work and are not used for tracking.
The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners, as third parties, may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites, and to measure how those ads perform. In the EEA your consent for this is requested by Google's own consent dialog; if you decline, non-personalised ads may be shown instead. You can change your choice there at any time.
How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Opt out of personalised ads: adssettings.google.com.
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete the data held about you, and you can lodge a complaint with the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH, naih.hu). For any privacy question, write to the address below.
